It can be used in 100 / 1000M RJ45 Ethernet Cat5e/6 networks with PoE support. It is simply installed in-line on an RJ45 Cat5e/6 cable. The suppressor has two female RJ45 sockets, so in-line installation is very easy and simple. It protects all Ethernet devices such as switches, routers, laptops/PCs, IP cameras, etc. from harmful surges caused by atmospheric discharges or static electricity. Moreover, thanks to the PoE function, it ALLOWS PoE-enabled devices to remain powered while protecting them from destructive lightning strikes or voltage surges.
Correct placement: IN socket on the unprotected part of the cable and OUT socket on the protected side of the cable.
Reverse installation will still allow network traffic and operation, but there will be no lightning/surge protection!
Proper grounding: pay attention to the yellow-green grounding wire. This wire must be connected to a suitable electrical ground in the building.
Without proper grounding, the surge protector will not be able to dissipate excess voltage and will be ineffective
