Operating principle: Why is the sensor electrical NO and alarm NC?

In the alarm industry, this sensor is sold as NC (Normally Closed). Why is this?

In alarm systems, the "normal" (resting) state is a secured building – i.e., a closed window.

Since the circuit is closed and current flows when the window is closed (magnet is close), manufacturers call it NC.

From the point of view of pure electrical engineering, it is an NO circuit (because by default, lying on a table without a magnet, the sensor does not conduct current), however, alarm installers always look at the operating state with the window closed.
