Description

The detector is a combination of a passive infrared detector and a microwave detector contained in one housing. The detector enters an alarm state only when both sections detect an intruder simultaneously.

The device is a combination of a passive infrared detector and a microwave detector contained in one housing. The detector enters an alarm state only when both sections detect an intruder simultaneously.

The PIR detector works by detecting sudden changes in temperature caused by an object moving in the protected area. When the beam caused by the temperature change passes through the lens, the detector generates a pulse. The microwave transmitter emits short pulses of radio waves which, after reflecting off objects, reach the receiver. The microwave detector detects differences in the returning signal caused by moving objects.

The microwave section does not detect air movement, changes in light intensity and temperature (it is insensitive to heaters, air fresheners, etc.) - it only detects movement. Strong vibrations can cause problems. Microwave signals penetrate non-metallic objects (e.g. walls and windows). The infrared detector is resistant to vibrations, but does not penetrate walls and windows.

Two complementary technologies provide full immunity to false alarms. Dual technology is an ideal solution in unfavorable conditions. The required simultaneous excitation of two different types of sensors significantly simplifies the installation of the detector and reduces limitations caused by conditions in the protected area.
