1 Purpose and Functions
The ACTii VGA D-SUB cable (model AC8622) is a high-class signal cable designed for transmitting analog video in high resolution. It is an ideal solution for connecting desktop computers, laptops, and other source devices to monitors, projectors, LCD/LED TVs, and interactive whiteboards equipped with a standard 15-pin D-SUB connector.
Thanks to dual shielding and ferrite filters, the product ensures a crystal-clear image by minimizing the risk of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise, which is especially important when transmitting analog signals over a 2-meter distance.
Main features:
- ✔ Full shielding to protect the signal from external interference
- ✔ Integrated ferrite filter to stabilize data transmission
- ✔ Gold-plated tips (Gold) to ensure excellent contact and corrosion resistance
- ✔ High-quality, flexible cable for easy installation in hard-to-reach places
- ✔ Durable D-SUB (15-pin) connectors ensuring a stable connection
Application:
The cable is used wherever reliable analog video transmission is required:
- Office and home workstations (PC - Monitor connection)
- Conference and lecture rooms (projector connection)
- CCTV monitoring systems
- Server rooms and industrial installations

3 Connection Instructions
To ensure proper device operation and avoid equipment damage, follow these steps:
- Turn off devices: Before connecting the cable, it is recommended to turn off the computer and the monitor/projector.
- Connect plugs: Plug one end of the VGA cable into the output port on the computer (graphics card) and the other into the input port on the receiver (monitor/projector).
- Secure the connection: After plugging in, manually tighten the mounting screws located on the sides of the connectors. This will prevent accidental disconnection and signal loss.
- Startup: Turn on the monitor, then the computer. The operating system should automatically detect the connected screen.
- Configuration: If necessary, adjust the resolution and refresh rate in the computer's system settings.
4 Safety and Maintenance
Safety rules:
- The product is intended for indoor use only.
- Do not bend the cable at a sharp angle, as this may lead to breakage of internal signal wires or damage to the shielding.
- Protect from contact with water, moisture, and chemicals.
- When disconnecting the cable, always hold by the connector housing; never pull on the cable itself.
- Do not use the cable if you notice damage to the outer insulation or bent pins in the connectors.
Maintenance:
The cable does not require specialized maintenance. If dirty, it can be wiped with a dry or slightly damp antistatic cloth. Before cleaning, be sure to disconnect the cable from all power sources and devices.
5 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible solution |
|---|---|
| No image on the monitor | Check if the plugs are correctly pushed in and tightened. Make sure the correct signal source (VGA) is selected in the monitor menu. |
| Image is blurry or "snowy" | This may be caused by interference. Ensure the cable does not run directly next to devices generating a strong magnetic field (e.g., transformers, motors). |
| Unnatural colors (e.g., image is yellow or blue) | Check if any pins in the plug are bent or broken. Ensure the plug is evenly pressed into the socket. |
