1 Purpose and Functions

The ACTii AC1367 USB PC thermometer is an advanced measuring device designed for real-time temperature monitoring using a computer or mobile devices. The device is equipped with two independent sensors: one built inside the metal housing and the second external one, located on a detachable 100 cm probe. Thanks to its high reading precision (up to 0.01°C) and robust construction, the thermometer is used in professional monitoring of server rooms, laboratories, warehouses, and for home use.

Using the TXT button:

A unique feature of the device is the TXT button. After pressing and holding it, the thermometer starts emulating a keyboard and automatically enters current temperature readings into the active program window (e.g., Excel, Notepad, Google Docs). This function also works on mobile devices with Android (OTG adapter required).

3 Software Installation and Configuration

First run:

The device operates in Plug and Play mode. After connecting to the USB port, the operating system should automatically recognize the device. To fully use the advanced features, the included software from the CD must be used.

Feature configuration:

• Refresh interval: In the program settings, you can define how often the temperature reading should be retrieved and saved.
• Data logging: The program allows for automatic saving of measurement history to CSV or TXT files, which allows for later analysis in spreadsheets.
• Alarm system: The user can set upper and lower temperature limits. Once exceeded, the program can:
  • Play an alarm sound.
  • Send an e-mail notification to a defined address.
  • Transmit information via SKYPE messenger.

4 Safety and Maintenance Instructions

Safe usage rules:

1. Power supply: The device should be powered exclusively from a standard 5V DC USB port.
2. Moisture protection: Although the thermometer has a metal housing, the USB connector itself is not waterproof. In case of outdoor mounting, you must protect the USB plug and socket from rain and condensation.
3. External probe: The probe is a precision element. Avoid sharp bending of the cable and exposing the measuring tip to corrosive substances.
4. Operating temperature: Do not expose the device housing (USB part) to temperatures exceeding the range of -40°C to +85°C. The +120°C range applies only to the external probe tip.
5. Cleaning: The device should be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents or strong detergents.

Compliance with standards: The product meets the requirements of European Union directives confirmed by CE and RoHS certificates.
