1 Purpose and Features

The ACTii AC8755 QUAD video splitter is an advanced device for video signal management in CCTV systems. It allows for simultaneous viewing of images from up to 9 cameras on a single receiver, offering flexible screen split modes (1, 2, 3, 8 or 9 channels). The device is equipped with a VGA output and a traditional VIDEO output (TV-OUT), which allows it to work with both computer monitors and television sets. Thanks to RS-485 interface support, the splitter can be integrated with control keyboards, recorders, or computer systems.

3 Detailed Feature Description

Motion Detection and Alarms

The device has a built-in motion detection algorithm. In case of detected activity, the splitter can automatically:

• Trigger an audible alarm (buzzer).
• Magnify the image from the camera where motion was detected to full-screen mode.
• Activate an alarm output to control external devices.

Detection sensitivity can be configured individually for each of the 9 channels, which allows for the elimination of false alarms in difficult lighting conditions.

Display Modes

• AUTO Function: Automatic, sequential switching of images from selected cameras. The display time for each channel is programmable.
• PIP (Picture-in-Picture) Function: Allows for viewing an additional channel in a small window while observing the main camera.
• ZOOM Function: Digital magnification of a selected image segment in full-screen mode.
• FREEZE Function: Possibility to "freeze" (pause) the current camera image for more detailed analysis.

Event Log and OSD

The splitter generates a list of the last 60 events, including motion detection, alarm input activation, and video signal loss. OSD information, such as channel name, current date, and time, can be displayed on the camera images.

4 Installation and Safety Instructions

Connecting Devices

1. Connect up to 9 CCTV cameras to the Video In (BNC) sockets.
2. If signal forwarding is required (e.g., to a recorder), use the Loop Out sockets.
3. Connect a monitor to the VGA output or a television to the TV-OUT output.
4. If using a VCR, connect it to the VCR In/Out sockets.
5. Connect the 12V DC power adapter to the power socket.

Safety Rules (EU Compliance)

• ● The device is intended exclusively for indoor use.
• ● Ensure adequate ventilation, especially when mounting in RACK cabinets. Do not cover ventilation openings.
• ● Use only the included power adapter or an adapter with identical parameters (12V DC, min. 1A).
• ● Before connecting or disconnecting BNC signal cables, ensure that the device is disconnected from the power source.
• ● Protect from moisture, flooding, and extreme temperatures.
