1 Purpose and Functions
The ACTii AC5539 power supply is an advanced DC-DC voltage converter designed for the stable power supply of electronic devices in vehicles such as passenger cars, trucks, and buses. The device converts voltage from the vehicle's electrical system (8-22V range) into a stable 5V voltage, which is the standard for most mobile devices.
Thanks to the use of two types of outputs – a USB socket and a Mini USB plug – the converter is extremely versatile. It is ideal for powering GPS navigation systems, route recorders (dash cams), mobile phones, tablets, and other accessories compatible with Android or Apple systems. The compact, hermetic housing allows for discreet installation inside the dashboard or other areas of the vehicle.
Main features:
- ✔ High output power: 3A (15W) ensuring fast charging
- ✔ Dual output: 1x USB socket on cable and 1x Mini USB plug on cable
- ✔ Solid, hermetic housing made of durable ABS plastic
- ✔ Wide range of acceptable input voltage: 8 - 22V DC
- ✔ Very high energy conversion rate of 96%
- ✔ Low heat emission due to high circuit efficiency
- ✔ Resistance to shocks and moisture (waterproof design)
- ✔ Integrated mounting holes for easier installation
Application:
The device is widely used for powering and charging:
- GPS satellite navigation systems
- Route recorders and car cameras
- MP3 and MP4 players
- Smartphones and tablets (Apple, Android, and others)
- Watch Dog type systems
- Other devices requiring a stable 5V DC voltage

3 Installation and Connection
The converter is intended for direct connection into the vehicle's electrical system. Before starting installation, ensure that the power in the vehicle is turned off.
Input cable connection diagram:
- Red Cable: Connect to the positive terminal (+12V DC)
- Black Cable: Connect to the vehicle mass or negative terminal (-)
Mechanical installation:
The device housing is equipped with mounting holes. It is recommended to screw the converter to a stable structural element under the dashboard or secure it using zip ties. Avoid places with extremely high temperatures (e.g., in the immediate vicinity of the heater).
4 Safety and Protection
The device is equipped with a range of systems protecting both the converter and the receivers connected to it:
- Overvoltage protection: Protects against sudden voltage spikes in the car's electrical system.
- Short-circuit protection: In the event of a short circuit on the output, the device cuts off power.
- Automatic restart: After the cause of the short circuit is resolved, the converter automatically resumes power supply.
- Overheating protection: The circuit limits power or shuts down in case of exceeding a safe operating temperature.
Exercise extreme caution not to reverse the polarity of the input wires. Reverse connection may lead to damage to the converter or the vehicle's electrical system. It is recommended to use an additional fuse on the positive wire.
