1 Purpose and Functions

The ACTii AC1305 piezoelectric alarm siren is a compact warning device that, thanks to its small dimensions, is perfect for installation in motorcycles, scooters, and inside vehicles as a supplement to alarm systems. The device emits a very piercing, high-pitched sound that effectively draws the attention of third parties and prevents an intruder from focusing on their actions. The siren generates a constant sound with steady intensity, making it a reliable element of security systems.

Operating principle:

For proper operation, the siren requires an external controller or generator (e.g., alarm control unit, control module). The device does not have a built-in interrupter – upon applying 12V DC, it emits a continuous sound signal.

3 Installation and Connection

Mechanical installation:

The siren should be installed in a dry place that is difficult for unauthorized persons to access. For motorcycle installation, it is recommended to place it under fairings or the seat so that it is protected from direct water streams during washing or heavy rain.

Electrical connection:

The device has two power cables. Proper polarity must be maintained:

• Red wire: Connect to the positive (+) terminal of the alarm output or 12V power source.
• Black wire: Connect to the negative (-) terminal / ground (GND).

Note: Reverse polarity connection may result in no sound or damage to the piezoelectric transducer.

4 Safety and Maintenance

Safety rules:

• Hearing protection: The siren generates a sound at 105 dB. Do not test the device in close proximity to ears (below 2 meters), as this carries a risk of permanent hearing damage.
• Power supply: Use only stabilized 12V DC voltage. Exceeding the permissible voltage can lead to coil burnout or damage to the piezo element.
• Operating environment: Despite its solid construction, the siren is not fully waterproof. Avoid immersion in water and direct contact with aggressive chemicals.
• Access: The device should be stored and installed in a place inaccessible to children.

Maintenance:

The device does not require specialized maintenance procedures. Periodically check the stability of the mounting and the condition of electrical connections (ensure no corrosion on contacts), especially when installed in vehicles exposed to vibrations and changing atmospheric conditions.
