1 Purpose and Functions
The high-end ACTii AC8386 industrial camera is an advanced video device working in AHD, TVI, and CVBS technologies, based on a professional SONY sensor with FULL HD 2Mpix (1920x1080) resolution. The device is equipped with a motor-zoom lens that allows for 30x optical zoom and features integrated Auto-Focus for instant focusing.
The camera is widely used not only in CCTV monitoring systems but also in industrial automation. Thanks to its ability to focus from a distance of just 10 cm, it is perfectly suited for precise observation of details in production processes. The device supports control via RS-485 interface, voltage control, and direct configuration via the OSD menu.
Key features:
- ✔ Hybrid operation mode: AHD, TVI, and CVBS (selectable in OSD menu)
- ✔ FULL HD 2Mpix (1920x1080) resolution for crystal clear image
- ✔ Built-in high-speed digital AUTO FOCUS system
- ✔ Integrated RS485 controller for moto-zoom functions (managed via DVR, keyboard, or PC)
- ✔ Full OSD menu for configuring operating parameters
- ✔ Ability to control zoom and focus with buttons on the housing
- ✔ Very high sensitivity of 0.01 LUX for operation in difficult lighting conditions
- ✔ Mechanical ICR filter and Day/Night function for optimal cooperation with IR illuminators
- ✔ HD signal transmission over long distances via coaxial cable
- ✔ Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and Digital Noise Reduction (DNR)

3 Control and Configuration
The camera offers versatile control options for Moto-Zoom functions and access to image parameters:
Control interfaces:
- RS485: Connectors marked as A and B. They allow connecting the camera to a DVR, control keyboard, or a PC with a DVR card using communication protocols.
- Voltage control: Connectors dedicated to direct control:
- Z (Zoom): Zoom control
- F (Focus): Focus control
- C (COM): Common ground
Functional buttons on the housing:
On the back of the camera, there are buttons for manual operation:
- MENU: Enter OSD menu / Confirm
- N (Near): Focus on near objects
- F (Far): Focus on far objects
- W (Wide): Zoom out (wide angle)
- T (Tele): Zoom in (optical zoom)
4 Advanced Image Functions
The camera has a number of systems that improve image quality in difficult conditions:
WDR: Wide Dynamic Range, allows observation of objects in high-contrast lighting.
DNR: Digital Noise Reduction, eliminates "snow" in low light.
BLC: Backlight Compensation, prevents the camera from being blinded by a strong light source behind the object.
Sense-UP: Increases camera sensitivity (max. x30) in extremely low light.
Mirror: Mirror image function.
Privacy zones: Ability to mask selected parts of the image.
5 Safety and Installation Instructions
Safety rules:
- The device must be powered exclusively by a stabilized 12V DC voltage with a current efficiency of at least 300mA. Incorrect polarity or too high voltage can permanently damage the camera.
- Installation should be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with electrical safety standards applicable in the EU.
- The camera should be protected against direct exposure to extreme weather conditions if it is not placed in an additional protective housing.
- Do not touch the sensor or lens with your fingers. In case of dirt, use a soft cloth with isopropyl alcohol.
- When connecting RS485 wires, ensure that the power is disconnected to avoid surges.
