1 Purpose and Functions

The ACTii AC8603 IP camera is a professional video surveillance device designed for use in demanding outdoor conditions. Equipped with a high-end 1/2.9" SONY IM323 CMOS sensor, it offers Full HD resolution (1920x1080) imaging, providing exceptional detail and sensitivity at a 0.01lux level. The device combines the functions of a high-speed camera (PAN TILT) with an advanced Moto-zoom lens featuring a 4x optical zoom, enabling precise observation of distant objects.

Thanks to a robust, vandal-proof aluminum housing and IP66 ingress protection rating, the camera is fully resistant to harsh weather conditions, dust, and strong water jets. An integrated infrared illuminator with a range of up to 25m and a mechanical ICR filter allow for effective operation in total darkness, automatically adjusting image parameters to the prevailing lighting conditions.

Control and automation capabilities:

The camera offers extensive automatic terrain patrolling features. The user has access to 64 presets (programmed points), a Patrol function, and a Pattern function, which allows for defining a precise horizontal route along which the camera should move. The rotation speed is up to 25°/s horizontally, allowing for rapid reaction and changes in the field of view.

Safety guidelines:

• The device must be powered exclusively by 12V DC with a minimum of 1000mA. Using an incorrect power supply can damage the camera.
• During outdoor installation, ensure that all cable connections (especially RJ45 and power sockets) are properly protected against moisture.
• Do not point the camera lens directly at the sun or other very strong light sources, as this can damage the CMOS sensor.
• Installation should be carried out on a stable surface capable of supporting the device's weight including potential icing or wind pressure.
• Disconnect power before starting installation work.

Installation tips:

The camera features an IP66 housing, which means full weather resistance. However, it is recommended to install it under an eave or canopy to minimize the accumulation of raindrops on the lens glass, which can affect image quality. Double tempered glass protects the lens against mechanical damage.

4 Configuration and System Operation

Access via network and software:

The camera allows image viewing in several ways:

• Web browser: Full support via IE, Chrome, and Firefox. Allows configuration of image parameters (brightness, contrast, saturation) and network functions.
• CMS program: The included professional software enables managing multiple cameras simultaneously, recording footage to the computer's hard drive, and playing back archived recordings.
• Mobile devices: Applications for Android and iPhone systems allow for live viewing from anywhere in the world.

Motion detection and Alarms:

The motion detection system allows for intelligent area monitoring. In case of event detection, the camera can:

• Send an email notification along with photos of the incident.
• Upload video files or photos to an external FTP server (e.g., network drive).
• Operate according to a set weekly schedule (e.g., only during night hours).

User management:

Access to the camera is protected by a password system. Users are divided into groups (Administrator, User), each possessing different permissions to change settings or perform viewing only.
