1 Purpose and Functions
The ACTii AC7305 active video splitter is a professional distribution device designed for use in advanced closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and multimedia installations. The device allows for the distribution of video signals from 8 independent sources to 24 outputs, enabling the transmission of an image from one camera to three different receivers (e.g., a recorder, monitoring display, and video processor) without signal quality loss.
The distributor is fully compatible with colour and black-and-white camera systems, as well as VCRs and other signal sources operating in PAL, SECAM, and NTSC standards. Thanks to the use of active amplification, the device eliminates signal losses resulting from signal splitting, which guarantees high image quality on all outputs.
Main Features:
- ✔ Support for 8 BNC signal inputs and 24 BNC outputs
- ✔ Active distribution system ensuring high quality of the split signal
- ✔ LED indicators signalling correct connection of individual input signals
- ✔ Standard 19-inch Rack housing (1U height) facilitating installation in server cabinets
- ✔ Very low energy consumption and stable operation in continuous mode
- ✔ Solid metal construction ensuring durability and shielding against interference
Signal Configuration Information:
The device operates in an 8-section layout. Each of the 8 inputs has 3 assigned dedicated outputs. This allows for independent management of eight different video streams within a single central unit.

3 Installation and Connection
Device mounting:
The splitter is designed for mounting in a standard 19" Rack cabinet. You should provide at least 1U of free space. The device can also work as a standalone unit on a flat, stable surface.
Connection procedure:
- Ensure all devices (cameras, recorders) are turned off before connecting cables.
- Connect signal cables from the cameras to the ports marked as INPUT (inputs 1-8).
- Connect receiver cables (to monitors or recorders) to the ports marked as OUTPUT. Remember that outputs are grouped in threes for each input.
- Connect the included 5V DC power adapter to the power port on the splitter, then connect to the mains socket.
- Observe the indicator LEDs on the front panel – they should light up for active input signals.
4 Safety and Maintenance
Safety rules
- Use only the power adapter supplied by the manufacturer (5V DC).
- The device is intended for indoor use only.
- Protect the device from moisture, flooding, and extreme temperatures.
- Do not block ventilation openings if the device is mounted in a confined space.
- If the power cord is damaged, disconnect the device from the mains immediately.
Maintenance
- Clean the housing with a dry or slightly damp antistatic cloth.
- Regularly check the stability of the BNC connector connections.
- Avoid using aggressive cleaning agents and solvents.
5 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No image on all outputs | No power to the device | Check power adapter connection and the presence of voltage in the socket. |
| No image on a specific section | No input signal | Check the camera and the BNC cable connected to the input (INPUT). Check the LED. |
| Image is noisy or dark | Impedance mismatch or poor cable quality | Ensure you are using 75 Ohm coaxial cables. Check if cable lengths do not exceed standards. |
