1 Purpose and Functions
The ACTii AC9549 foot control pedal is a professional foot-operated controller designed for remote management of MIG and TIG welding machine parameters. The device allows the operator to smoothly adjust the welding current without having to stop working or manually change settings on the machine panel. This is a crucial solution for precision welding tasks where dynamic changes in current intensity are required depending on the material temperature and welding position.
Main features:
- ✔ Solid construction ensuring resistance to harsh workshop conditions
- ✔ High-quality control cable with increased mechanical strength
- ✔ Standard 7-pin connector ensuring wide compatibility
- ✔ Ergonomic design allowing for long-term work without foot fatigue
- ✔ Precise return mechanism and smooth potentiometer operation
Compatibility with devices:
The pedal has been designed to work with the following welding machine series:
- JET I: 200, 250, 315
- JET II: 200, 250, 320, 400, 500
- JET II-S: 200

3 Installation and Connection Manual
Installation steps:
- Ensure the welder is turned off before connecting accessories.
- Locate the remote control socket (7-pin) on the front or rear panel of the welder.
- Align the plug cutout of the pedal with the slot in the welder's socket.
- Insert the plug fully and secure it by tightening the locking ring (if present in your model).
- Turn on the welder and select the remote control mode on the device control panel.
4 Safety and Maintenance
Safe operation rules:
- The device should be used only on a dry and stable surface.
- Avoid spilling water or other conductive liquids on the pedal.
- The control cable should be routed in a way that prevents tripping or driving over it with heavy equipment.
- If the cable insulation is damaged, stop using it immediately and have it repaired by a qualified service center.
Maintenance:
Regularly check the condition of the 7-pin plug for dirt and bent pins. The pedal housing can be cleaned with a dry cloth or compressed air to remove welding dust and metal shavings that may affect the fluidity of the mechanical movement.
5 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Welder unresponsive | Incorrect connection or no Remote mode | Check plug seating and settings on the welder panel. |
| Unstable welding current | Dirty potentiometer or damaged cable | Clean mechanism with compressed air; check cable continuity. |
| Pedal does not return to zero | Mechanical blockage or broken spring | Check if welding spatter has gotten under the pedal. |
