ACTii AC7573

1 Purpose and Functions

The ACTii AC7573 ceramic igniter is an advanced technological solution that revolutionizes the biomass ignition process in modern heating systems. It is a high-temperature heating element used in most pellet burners, designed as a more efficient and durable alternative to conventional metal heaters. The product was manufactured in the European Union from the highest quality materials, which guarantees long-term and trouble-free operation.

The device is designed for the ignition of a wide spectrum of renewable fuels, including wood pellets, wood chips, logs, straw, and other types of biomass. Thanks to its design, the igniter reaches extremely high temperatures in a very short time, which significantly accelerates the boiler start-up process.

Main features:

  • ✔ Very low energy consumption compared to a conventional heater
  • ✔ Durable and wear-resistant (does not degrade like metal elements)
  • ✔ Quick ignition time: 60~90 seconds
  • ✔ Tested for 100,000 ignition cycles (technology proven for 15 years on the Japanese market)
  • ✔ Easy installation and the possibility of upgrading existing burners
  • ✔ Compatibility with any steel pipe with an internal diameter greater than 18mm
  • ✔ High continuous operating temperature: 1000°C
  • ✔ Safety: no risk of overheating even in the event of blower failure
  • ✔ Fully insulated connections and shielded electrical contacts
  • ✔ Certified UL/EC cabling resistant to temperatures of 200-500°C
  • ✔ High resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion
  • ✔ Compliance with RoHS standards and the REACH regulation

Application:

The igniter is used in a wide range of heating devices:

  • Wood pellet boilers and burners
  • Wood chip burners
  • Straw burners
  • Other biomass combustion systems

3 Installation and Usage Instructions

Installation rules:

The ceramic igniter should be mounted in such a way that the stream of hot air is directed directly at the fuel (biomass). The following guidelines must be followed:

  • Mounting diameter: The igniter fits standard steel pipes with an internal diameter greater than 18 mm.
  • Positioning: The optimal distance of the igniter face from the fuel should be chosen to ensure ignition within 60-90 seconds. Placing it too close may expose the element to mechanical damage by the expanding fuel, while placing it too far will lengthen the ignition time.
  • Ventilation: Although the igniter is resistant to a lack of blast, it is recommended to ensure airflow around the heating capillary, which accelerates heat transport to the biomass.
  • Electrical connection: The 350 mm long cables have high-temperature certification. They must be connected to the boiler controller according to the heating device manufacturer's diagram.

4 Safety and Maintenance

WARNING: High Voltage and Temperature

The device operates at 230V. All installation and maintenance work must be performed with the power supply completely disconnected. The heating element heats up to 1000°C – touching it causes serious burns.

Safety rules (According to EU standards):

  • Insulation: The product has fully insulated connections, however, the cables must be protected against abrasion by sharp edges of the burner housing.
  • Working environment: The igniter is resistant to corrosion, however, direct contact with water or other liquids during operation should be avoided.
  • Compliance: The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the EN 60335 standard confirmed by TUV Rheinland.

Maintenance:

The ceramic igniter is a maintenance-free element and does not undergo natural wear to the same extent as metal heaters. It is only recommended to periodically check the cleanliness of the mounting pipe and remove any excess ash that could block the flow of hot air.

5 Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No fuel ignition Igniter too far from fuel Correct the mounting position
Long ignition time Contaminated air blast pipe Clean the furnace and heater area of ash
Heater does not heat No power supply or controller failure Check voltage at contacts (230V)
