3Installation and Mounting
Mounting procedure:
- Ensure the camera is disconnected from power before attempting to mount the lens.
- Remove the dust cover from the camera mount and the rear of the lens.
- Gently place the lens onto the CS Mount socket in the camera.
- Screw the lens clockwise until you feel slight resistance. Do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the thread.
- After turning on the camera and obtaining a live view, perform a focus adjustment. For fixed-focus lenses, adjustment is typically done by changing the distance of the lens from the sensor (so-called back focus) using a ring on the camera or by gently unscrewing/screwing the lens, if the camera design allows it.
4Maintenance and Cleaning
To maintain the highest image quality, keep the glass elements clean:
- Lens cleaning: Use only soft microfiber cloths or specialist optical tissues.
- Dust removal: Before wiping the lens, use a photographic air blower to remove dust particles that could scratch the glass.
- Chemical agents: Do not use aggressive detergents. If necessary, use a small amount of pure isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
- Storage: If the lens is not in use, always attach the protective caps.
