1 Purpose and Functions
A high-quality 16mm glass lens designed for megapixel CCTV cameras. The lens supports cameras with resolutions up to 5MP (including 4MP, 3MP, 2MP, 1MP) and can be successfully used in lower-resolution analog cameras. Thanks to its fixed 16mm focal length, the device provides a significant zoom, allowing for the monitoring of objects at a large distance from the camera.
The construction based on high-quality glass and metal components ensures durability and excellent optical parameters. Unlike standard lenses, this model maintains proper focus even in the corners of the image, eliminating the edge blurring effect typical of lower-class optics.
Main features:
- ✔ Lens made of high-quality glass and metal components.
- ✔ Support for megapixel cameras with resolutions: 5MP, 4MP, 3MP, 2MP, 1MP.
- ✔ 16mm fixed focal length providing zoom for long distances.
- ✔ Infrared correction adapted for day/night mode operation.
- ✔ Full image sharpness in corners thanks to an advanced lens system.
- ✔ Built-in infrared filter for optimal color reproduction.
- ✔ Standard M12x0.5 (S-MOUNT) mount for board cameras.
Image Optimization:
The lens uses a specialized lens system that compensates for chromatic aberration for infrared radiation. When working in very strong sunlight, to achieve ideal color reproduction, it is recommended to use an additional IR 650 filter (model ACTii AC6508), which can be attached to the back of the lens.

3 Installation and Configuration
Lens Mounting:
The lens is designed for board cameras equipped with an M12 socket (thread diameter approx. 11.9mm). To install the lens:
- Ensure the camera sensor is clean and free of dust.
- Carefully screw the lens into the camera's threaded socket (S-MOUNT).
- Connect the camera to a monitor or recorder to get a live preview.
- Adjust the focus by slowly screwing the lens in or out of the socket until you achieve the sharpest possible image.
- If the camera socket has a locking screw, tighten it gently after setting the focus to prevent the lens from coming out of adjustment on its own.
Operational Tips:
Due to the narrow angle of view (20°), the 16mm lens requires very precise focus adjustment. Even a small turn can significantly affect the image clarity. It is recommended to carry out adjustments under the target lighting conditions in which the camera will operate.
4 Safety and Maintenance
Safety Rules:
- Product intended for professional use in industrial television systems.
- Protect from direct contact with water and moisture, unless the lens is mounted in a sealed external housing.
- Do not touch the glass surfaces of the lenses with your fingers – grease and sweat can damage the anti-reflective coatings.
- Do not use excessive force during installation to avoid damaging the fine M12 thread.
Optics Maintenance:
If the lens becomes dirty, use only specialized optical cleaning products (e.g., microfiber cloths or compressed air). Avoid using aggressive detergents or abrasive materials that could scratch the glass surface.
5 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause and Solution |
|---|---|
| The image is blurry | Focus adjustment is required by screwing the lens in/out of the socket. Check if the lens is dirty. |
| Unnatural colors during the day | In case of very strong sunlight, consider mounting an additional IR 650 filter (model AC6508) on the back of the lens. |
| Sharpness only in the center | Ensure the lens is screwed in straight. The AC3490 model features edge correction, so with correct installation, the image should be sharp across the entire surface. |
| Lens does not fit the camera | Check if the camera has the M12 mounting standard. Some miniature cameras use a smaller M8 standard. |
