Reverse installation will still allow network traffic and operation, but there will be no lightning/surge protection!
Proper grounding: pay attention to the yellow/green ground wire. This wire must be connected to a suitable electrical ground in the building.
Without proper grounding, the surge protector will not be able to dissipate the excess voltage and will be ineffective
