Video Recorders

Video Recorders – The Heart of the Monitoring System

A video recorder (DVR/NVR) is the central device of a CCTV system, responsible for recording, archiving, and managing images from industrial cameras. It allows recording video and often audio onto a hard drive (HDD), and also allows for later playback and export of recordings.

Types of recorders in our offer:

The choice of recorder depends on the type of cameras you have:

  • NVR (Network Video Recorder): Designed exclusively for IP (network) cameras. They offer the highest recording quality and advanced network functions.
  • DVR (Digital Video Recorder): Dedicated to analog cameras and analog HD systems (AHD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI).
  • Hybrid recorders (XVR/HVR): The most versatile solution, allowing cameras of different systems (analog, AHD, CVI, TVI, and IP) to be connected to one device. Ideal for modernizing and expanding existing installations.

Key features of modern recorders

Modern recorders available at Actii.pl offer much more than just recording. Most models have a remote viewing function over the Internet (via a browser or mobile app) and advanced alarm functions, such as motion detection, image analysis (e.g., line crossing, intrusion detection), and email or push notifications.

USB DVR Cards – Turn Your Computer into a Recorder

USB DVR Cards, often called "Video Grabbers," are compact devices that allow you to connect analog video sources (e.g., CCTV cameras, VHS VCRs) to a computer or laptop via the USB port. This is a simple and economical solution for digitizing old recordings or creating a basic monitoring system.

How do USB DVR Cards work?

The device captures the analog video and audio signal (usually via RCA or S-Video connectors) and converts it into a digital format. Using the included software, the computer can display a live feed and save it to the hard drive.

    Main applications:

    • Simple monitoring: They allow for the creation of a cheap, 1- or 4-channel monitoring system using a laptop or desktop computer.
    • Archiving recordings: An ideal solution for digitizing old VHS tapes, 8mm, and other analog media.
    • Service monitoring: Installers can use a USB card with a laptop as a portable service monitor for adjusting cameras.

    PCI DVR Cards

Although less common now, PCI/PCI-Express DVR cards are internal expansion cards installed in a desktop computer. They were once popular for building multi-channel, professional PC-based recorders, offering high performance and stability.

At Actii.pl, you will find modern and easy-to-use USB DVR cards that allow you to capture video signals quickly and affordably.

  • QUAD Image Dividers

QUAD Image Splitters - View Multiple Cameras on One Screen

Image splitters, also known as QUAD or video processors, are devices that allow simultaneous viewing of images from several (e.g., 4, 8, or 16) analog cameras on a single monitor or television. This is a classic solution used in monitoring systems that do not have a digital recorder, or where additional, independent "live" viewing is required.

The device digitally processes the signals from individual cameras, reduces them, and combines them into one image, which is then displayed on the screen in various configurations (e.g., split into 4 equal parts - hence the name "QUAD").

    Main functions of image splitters:

    • View images from 4, 8, or 16 cameras simultaneously.
    • Various display modes (full screen, split, sequence).
    • Often have "Freeze" or digital zoom functions.
    • Allow connecting older analog cameras to modern monitors (e.g., with VGA or HDMI input).

Although the function of an image splitter is now mainly performed by a DVR recorder, specialized QUADs are still used in simple surveillance systems or for expanding existing installations. Check out our range of image splitters at Actii.pl.

  • IP NVR DVR HDR Network...

    Your Surveillance Management Center

IP Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and Hybrid Recorders (DVR/HDR/XVR) are the brains of any modern industrial television (CCTV) system. They allow for recording, storing, and playing back footage from multiple cameras, as well as providing remote access to surveillance via the Internet.

IP Recorders (NVR - Network Video Recorder)

Designed to work with IP cameras. Communication occurs entirely over the LAN/WAN network. Key advantages include:

    • High resolution: Support for Megapixel cameras (Full HD, 4K, and higher).
    • Flexibility: Easy system expansion and the ability to use existing network infrastructure.
    • PoE Power: Many NVR models have a built-in PoE switch, allowing cameras to be powered directly via the network cable.

    Hybrid Recorders (DVR/XVR/HDR)

These are universal devices that allow connecting cameras working in different technologies:

    • Analog (CVBS)
    • Analog High Definition (AHD, CVI, TVI)
    • Digital (IP)

These recorders are the ideal solution for modernizing old surveillance systems, allowing for a gradual replacement of analog cameras with digital ones.

At Actii.pl, you will find 4, 8, 16, 32-channel recorders and larger, with space for one or more hard drives (HDD), suitable for any installation.
